GREY FAITH

GREY FAITH

PRAYER TO THE LORD,
WITH SUBTLE AND DOUBTED WILL,
WITH INCENSE STICK IN HAND,
AS IF A PIOUS FRILL,
BELIEVE YOU ME OR NOT,
IS NOTHING BUT A DRILL.

UNSHAKEN FAITH IN LORD,
IS NOT A SIMPLE THOUGHT,
IN FAITH NO ONE WAILS,
AND STANDS LIKE A ROCK,
THAT KIND OF FAITH,
DARES TO MOVE’ MOUNTAINS.

FAITH MOVES MOUNTAINS,
NARRATED FROM STONE AGE,
BUT OUR FAITH IS SUCH,
THAT LIMPS AT EVERY STAGE.

WE MOVE ONE STEP FORWARD,
AND TAKE TWO STEPS BACK,
THAT MAKES IT CRYSTAL CLEAR,
HOW IN FAITH ALL WE LACK,
LIKE NEEDLE OF THE CLOCK,
THAT PROGRESSES TO TWELVE,
AND COMES TO ONE BACK.

OUR FAITH IS LIKE AN ICE-CREAM,
THAT SURVIVES IN COLD BELTS,
WITH LITTLE AMOUNT OF HEAT,
IT’S WHOLE STRUCTURE MELTS.

FAITH IS NOT THAT SHAKES,
MILLIONS CLAIMING FAITH,
OSCILLATE IN WEAK MESH,
THOSE WITH UNSHAKEN FAITH
ARE MADE OF DIFFERENT FLESH.

EASY SAID THAN DONE,
IS STORY OF OUR FAITH,
VASAL DEVENDER WONDERS,
IF WE UNDERSTAND,
THE REAL ELEMENT OF FAITH.

A SHALLOW DEPTH OF PRAYER,
AND GREY TINGE OF FAITH,
I WONDER ONCE AGAIN
IF THAT CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS.

MAY BE MY PRAYER FOR NOW,
NOT TOUCHING LORD’S HEART,
BUT I FEEL BLESSED,
IF IT REACHES HIS EARS.

HE CAN NOT TURN ME AWAY,
FOR QUALITY OF MY PRAYER,
FROM HEART I ALWAYS BOW,
WITH EVERY WORD I UTTER.

A SON CAN BE AN IDIOT,
BUT FATHER IS FULL OF GRACE,
I PRAY, SHOUT AND CRY,
MY LORD FOR YOUR GRACE.

With heavy heart understand your pain as a father and well expressed in your poem…. it’s heart touching leaving anyone at a dilemma whether God listens or not ?
My experience says HE listens and HE cares…. it is he who is present in our thoughts, in our atma… all of us are guest artists for a while… our prayers are with you… and let’s keep praying and praying 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I too agree with mr Mathur that grey faith is one of yr better poems . Loved each and every para and prayers with true faith and devotion can shake mountains . Continue enriching us with yr beautiful poems Vasalji.

🙏 The poem nicely explains that Prayers flowing from heat having unshakeable faith cannot escape the attention of Lord कृष्ण.

We are together in substance in prayer to Lord श्री कृष्ण for recovery of our Girish and his restoration to good health!
