है अजीब सा ज़हर,
आसमानों में।
अब हवा भी डरती है,
सांस लेने में।
जैसे लहरें हों,
प्यासी दरिया में।
भटकती हो रुह
कुछ पाने में।
ऐसा लगता है जैसे,
सब कुछ बदल गया।
सहने की आदत क्या पड़ी,
दर्द ही दवा बन गया।
ज़रुरत नहीं है,
दुश्मनों की अब।
दोस्त ही अब तो,
दुश्मन बन गया ।
कहां जाऊं,
ढूंढने मैं सच को।
हर झूठ,
अब सच बन गया।
रंग बदलते हैं,
लोग इतने।
की आईना भी,
परेशान हो गया।
अब नहीं दिखाता,
चेहरा वो असली।
अब आईना भी उनका,
किरदार हो गया।
ऐसा लगता है,
जैसे सब बदल गया।
चेहरे बदल गये,
मुस्कुराहटें बदल गई।
ठहाके,
झूठी हंसी में बदल गये।
आंसू तो जैसे,
पलकों पर थम गये।
तुम बदल गये,
मैं बदल गया।
अब नहीं दिखाते,
ज़ख्म तुम अपने।
मैं भी नहीं,
होता बेपर्दा।
नहीं दिल खोलते,
कोई अब अपने।
मोहब्बत तो जैसे,
यूं मर गई।
जैसे गुनाह के नीचे,
रुह दब गई।
सोचता है वासल देवेन्द्र ये,
जैसे मौत से पहले,
जिंदगी मर गई।

वासल देवेन्द्र is also a poet and writes poems both in English and Hindi and many of them have been published in Magzines. His recent poem अक्षर ढाई has become very popular.
At the age of 64 he ran 2 half marathons ( 21 KILOMETRES) one on October 4, 2020 (@ 6.33 and another on November 29, 2020.
He is converting whole of Bhagvad Gita into poetry.
The work is in progress and half of that has been completed.
